Mongolia April 18 & 19, 2010
When you look at Mongolia in the winter you see a brown, barren, dry, and desolate landscape. The wind is biting and you don’t dare go outside unless absolutely necessary. You wouldn’t believe you were looking at the same place in the summer. The land is transformed by the rain that comes in early summer. There are literally streams in the dessert, which quench the thirst of the people, the land and the animals. There is new life, where once there was none. The areas that were once dry and cracked are now full of growth and teeming with colour. Since the collapse of Soviet control and influence in Mongolia in 1991, Mongolia has been going through a similar transformation. The gospel is being shared and lives are being altered by God’s living water.

YWAM Taiwan 50th Anniversary Celebration SUNDAY EVENING—APRIL 4th
“They’re here! They’re here!” As Loren and Darlene’s car pulled into the parking lot, they were first presented with sashes patterned after the Taiwanese flag. Staff and students held aloft traditional Chinese lanterns, forming a walkway for Loren and Darlene to pass through while a long chain of firecrackers exploded. Staff, family and friends from all over the nation cheered and applauded as a smiling Loren and Darlene entered the conference room.
Our national leader, Don Gillman, welcomed the crowd of approximately 450 people. Don mentioned how grateful we were to have our founders with us – and reminded us that the thing we were the most grateful for was our Lord Jesus Christ. It was our great privilege to be able to celebrate God’s faithfulness to our mission on Easter Sunday.

Loren and Darlene Cunningham should have come back from a 15,000-mile, eight-country trip feeling their age. But it’s evident that attending 11 energy-charged YWAM Jubilee Celebrations over six weeks has made them more youthful and excited about the future of the mission than ever.
The Cunninghams returned home to Kona February 22 from the first of six “Founders’ Journeys” to celebrate YWAM’s 50th Anniversary together with YWAMers at 42 locations around the globe during 2010. Their first journey took them to New Zealand, two locations in Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, three locations in India and Nepal. It took 20 air flights to get them to all of the locations, and not one was delayed by bad weather or other problems.
Starting with a Maori hakka welcome in Tauranga, New Zealand, the founders were honored in ways that both humbled and delighted them – from a sedan chair entry in Thailand to flower petal greetings in an un-named Asian country and cultural dances at almost every venue.
“It was such an amazing thing for this couple to see their dream realized, then to see the fruit and be honored in this way,” said YWAM pioneer Tom Hallas, who accompanied them on much of their journey. “It’s been so satisfying that God would want to do this. They get more youthful as they go.”
At each location, Cunninghams together with the host YWAMers thanked God for His goodness in the PAST, celebrated His faithfulness in the PRESENT, and looked to the FUTURE with anticipation of all He desires to do through YWAM to complete the Great Commission. At each location, the participants joined a worldwide commitment to help fulfill God’s dreams by signing YWAM's “Jubilee Covenant”.
