The story of how God took an emotionally wounded, handicapped boy and raised him up as a missionary to Brazil. Against All Odds gives shows how his faithfulness helped launch YWAM in that nation and turn Brazilians into a powerful-missions sending force.
Great was the joy and the noise that was heard near the YWAM base in Buenos Aires, Argentina upon the arrival of Loren and Darlene. Many came to share the joy of the 50 years: some missionaries came in from the field to celebrate, ex-YWAMers left their countries, even friends of the Mission were present these days to remember the acts of God, celebrate His faithfulness and honor the obedience and commitment of all. It was a party, a mass party of about 500 attendees from more than 30 different nations.
These days were significant to remember the words and deeds that God made in the YWAM and at the same time to focus our vision. Darlene inspired us once again when affirming the principles which God has spoken and continues to speak, the importance of building upon the foundations that He has taught to the Mission. Loren taught us once again to look at the future, to see the world with such a faith as if we already had it in our hands.
